[802] **I have not seen anything unoccupied (nāddasāsiṃ anositaṃ)**: I did not see anything that was not settled upon (anajjhositaṃ); I saw only what was settled upon. All youth is occupied by aging; all health is occupied by illness; all life is occupied by death; all gain is occupied by loss; all fame is occupied by disrepute; all praise is occupied by blame; all happiness is occupied by suffering (dukkha).
Gain and loss, fame and disrepute,
blame and praise, and pleasure and pain—
these things among human beings are impermanent,
not everlasting, subject to change.
I have not seen anything unoccupied. Therefore the Blessed One said:
The whole world is without essence;
all the directions are in turmoil;
desiring an abode for myself,
I have not seen anything unoccupied.
