[852] **Whoever crossed over sensual pleasures and the tie so hard to overcome in the world** — **Whoever (yo)**: whoever, of whatever sort, however engaged, however disposed, of whatever character, having attained whatever station, endowed with whatever dhammas — whether a khattiya, a brahmin, a vessa, a sudda, a householder or one gone forth, a deva or a human being.
**Sensual pleasures (kāmā)**: by way of summary, there are two kinds of sensual pleasures: objective sensuality (vatthukāma) and subjective sensuality (kilesakāma). … These are called objective sensuality. … These are called subjective sensuality.
**Tie (saṅga)**: there are seven ties: the tie of lust, the tie of hatred, the tie of delusion, the tie of conceit, the tie of views, the tie of defilements, the tie of misconduct.
**In the world (loke)**: in the world of the states of loss, the world of humans, the world of devas, the world of the aggregates (khandha), the world of the elements (dhātu), the world of the sense bases (āyatana).
**Hard to overcome (duraccayaṃ)**: whoever has crossed, crossed up over, crossed beyond, transcended, and passed over the sensual pleasures and the ties in the world that are hard to overcome, hard to get beyond, hard to cross, hard to traverse, hard to transcend, hard to pass over — therefore: "whoever crossed over sensual pleasures and the tie so hard to overcome in the world."
