[861] **For whom there is no cherishing as 'mine' (mamāyita) in name-and-form (nāmarūpa) in every way**: "In every way" (sabbaso) means all entirely, all in every manner, without remainder, without residue; this word "sabbaso" is an expression of complete inclusion. "Name" (nāma) is the four immaterial aggregates. "Form" (rūpa) is the four primary elements (mahābhūta) and the form derived (upādāyarūpa) from the four primary elements. "For whom": for the Arahant whose taints (āsava) are destroyed. "Taking as 'mine'" (mamatta): there are two kinds of taking as 'mine' — taking as 'mine' through craving (taṇhā) and taking as 'mine' through view (diṭṭhi) … this is taking as 'mine' through craving … this is taking as 'mine' through view. "For whom there is no cherishing as 'mine' in name-and-form in every way" means: for whom the takings as 'mine' in name-and-form in every way do not exist, are not found, are not apprehended — they have been abandoned, cut off, calmed, tranquilized, rendered incapable of arising again, burned by the fire of knowledge (ñāṇa) — hence, "for whom there is no cherishing as 'mine' in name-and-form in every way."
