[890] **"Having dispelled all darkness"** (sabbaṃ tamaṃ vinodetvā): having driven out, having abandoned, having dispelled, having made an end of, and having brought to non-existence all the darkness of lust (rāga), the darkness of hatred, the darkness of delusion, the darkness of conceit (māna), the darkness of views (diṭṭhi), the darkness of defilements (kilesa), and the darkness of misconduct (duccarita) — which causes blindness, which causes the loss of vision, which causes the absence of knowledge (ñāṇa), which brings the cessation of wisdom, which sides with vexation, and which does not lead to Nibbāna — therefore, "having dispelled all darkness."
