[206] **"Whatever":** whoever, of whatever sort … **"Bhikkhunī":** … this one is the bhikkhunī intended in this meaning. **"The wrong time" (vikāla)** means: from when the sun has set until the arising of dawn. **"A family" (kula)** means: there are four families — a khattiya family, a brāhmaṇa family, a vessa family, a sudda family. **"Having approached":** having gone there. **"Without asking the owners":** without asking whatever person in that family is the owner with authority to give (permission). **"Bedding" (seyyā)** means: even, at the least, a spread of leaves. **"Having spread":** having spread it oneself. **"Having caused to be spread":** having caused another to spread it. **"Should sit down upon it":** she sits down upon it — an offence of pācittiya. **"Should lie down upon it":** she lies down upon it — an offence of pācittiya.
