[205] **"O great seer (mahesi), I long for your word"** — I long for, aspire to, wish for, delight in, desire, yearn for¹, hanker after your word (vacana), your manner of speech (byapatha), your teaching (desanā), your connected discourse (anusandhi).
**"Great seer (mahesī)"** — in what sense is he a great seer? The Blessed One sought, searched for, and sought out the great aggregate of virtue (sīlakkhandha), thus he is a great seer … "Where is the bull of men (narāsabha)?" — thus he is a great seer. Hence: "O great seer, I long for your word."
