Suttapiṭaka · Khuddakanikāya · Cūḷaniddesa · Vol. 30 · Section 226

[226] **"As I, untroubled like space (yathāhaṃ ākāso ca abyāpajjhamāno)"**: just as space (ākāsa) does not adhere,⁴ is not bound, is not entangled, so, not adhering,⁵ not being bound, not being entangled — thus⁶ "as I, untroubled like space." Just as space is not dyed by lac, or by turmeric, or by blue dye,⁷ or by madder, so, not becoming impassioned, not hating, not becoming deluded, not becoming defiled⁸ — thus too "as I, untroubled like space." Just as space does not grow angry, is not troubled, does not shrink back, is not struck, so, not growing angry, not being troubled, not shrinking back, not being struck¹ — thus too "as I, untroubled like space." _[Apparatus of the Siam Raṭṭha edition:]_ #1 M(yanmar): "ākāso va abyāpajjamāno"; so too below. 2 M: "ājāneyyaṃ." 3 M: "adhigaccheyyaṃ phasseyyaṃ sacchikareyyan ti." 4 M: "na gaṇhati" [does not grasp]. 5 M: "agaṇhamāno" [not grasping]. 6 M: "evam pi." 7 M: "haliddiyā vā nīliyā vā." 8 M: "akissamāno ti."
