[382] **"The extinction of aging and death (jarāmaccuparikkhayaṃ)"**: the abandonment (pahāna) of aging and death, its calming (vūpasama), its relinquishment (paṭinissagga), its tranquilization (paṭippassaddhi) — the Deathless (amata), Nibbāna. Hence "the extinction of aging and death."
