[390] *Oghātigaṃ puṭṭhumakāmamāgamaṃ* (We have come, wishing to question the one who has crossed the flood, who is without desire).
**Oghātigaṃ** (one who has crossed the flood): One who has crossed the flood (ogha), who has gone beyond it, fully transcended it, passed beyond it — hence, "one who has crossed the flood."
**Puṭṭhuṃ** (wishing to question): To question, to ask, to entreat, to invite, to win his gracious assent.
**Akāmamāgamaṃ** (we have come ... to the one without desire): Wishing to question the one without sensual desire — one free from sensual desire, who has given up sensual desire, disgorged sensual desire, released sensual desire, abandoned sensual desire, relinquished sensual desire; one devoid of lust (rāga), who has given up lust, disgorged lust, released lust, abandoned lust, relinquished lust — we have come, we have arrived, we have approached, we have reached, we have met together with you. Hence, "we have come, wishing to question the one who has crossed the flood, who is without desire."
