[487] "Thereupon he sees with insight (vipassati) therein" means: having entered upon the sphere of nothingness (ākiñcaññāyatana) and having emerged therefrom, he sees with insight the dhammas — the mind (citta) and mental factors (cetasika) — arisen therein as impermanent; he sees them with insight as suffering (dukkha), as a disease … as affording no escape; he sees, beholds, contemplates, and examines them. Hence, "thereupon he sees with insight therein."
