[58] **"By what is the world shrouded?"** — The world of hell (nirayaloka), the animal world (tiracchānaloka), the world of the realm of hungry ghosts (pittivisayaloka), the world of humans (manussaloka), the world of devas (devaloka), the world of the aggregates (khandhaloka), the world of the elements (dhātu) (dhātuloka), the world of the sense bases (āyatana) (āyatanaloka), this world, the other world, the Brahmā world together with the deva world — this is called "the world." By what is this world veiled, shrouded, covered over, shut in, concealed, and turned over upon (as by an overturned vessel)? Hence, "By what is the world shrouded?"
