[625] **I see him with my mind as if with the eye** (passāmi naṃ manasā cakkhunāva): just as a man possessed of eyes might look at¹ visible forms (rūpagatāni) — might see them, behold them, look upon them, gaze upon them, examine them — even so do I see, behold, look upon, gaze upon, and examine the Buddha, the Blessed One, with my mind. Therefore: "I see him with my mind as if with the eye."
