[724] **"They crush the mind (citta) with forms of diverse appearance"** means: with forms of various colors … with tangibles of various kinds, they crush the mind, they terrify it, they make it decline, they make it fall away. Therefore it is said, "they crush the mind with forms of diverse appearance."
