[812] **Not in conflict with the entire world**: Because loving-kindness (mettā) and the rest have been developed, those beings in the eastern direction are not repulsive (appaṭikūlā) to him; those beings in the western direction, those beings in the northern direction, those beings in the southern direction, those beings in the intermediate direction of the east, those beings in the intermediate direction of the west, those beings in the intermediate direction of the north, those beings in the intermediate direction of the south, those beings in the direction below,³ those beings in the direction above, those beings in the ten directions and the intermediate directions⁴ — they are not repulsive to him.⁵ **Not in conflict with the entire world** means: not being in conflict with, not being opposed by, not being irritated by,⁷ not being struck against by the entire world of beings⁶ — thus, "not in conflict with the entire world." **One should wander alone, like a rhinoceros horn.** Therefore that Paccekasambuddha said:
Cultivating loving-kindness, equanimity, compassion, liberation (vimutti),
and altruistic joy, each at the proper time,
not in conflict with the entire world,
one should wander alone, like a rhinoceros horn.
