Suttapiṭaka · Khuddakanikāya · Paṭisambhidāmagga · Vol. 31 · Section 423

[423] Thus have I heard. On one occasion the Blessed One was dwelling at Sāvatthī, in Jeta's Grove, Anāthapiṇḍika's monastery. There the Blessed One addressed the bhikkhus: "Bhikkhus." "Venerable sir," those bhikkhus replied to the Blessed One. The Blessed One said this: "Bhikkhus, there are these five faculties (indriya). Which five? The faith faculty (saddhindriya), the energy faculty (viriyindriya), the mindfulness faculty (satindriya), the concentration faculty (samādhindriya), and the wisdom faculty (paññindriya). These, bhikkhus, are the five faculties."
