[528] At the moment of the path of once-returning (sakadāgāmimagga), right view (sammādiṭṭhi) in the sense of seeing … right concentration — a form of concentration (samādhi) — in the sense of non-distraction is both the path and the cause for the abandoning of the gross fetter of sensual lust (kāmarāga) and the fetter of repulsion (paṭigha), of the gross latent tendency (anusaya) to sensual lust and the latent tendency to repulsion; is both the path and the cause for the supporting of co-arisen dhammas; is both the path and the cause for the exhaustion of the defilements (kilesa); is both the path and the cause for the purification of the beginning of penetration; is both the path and the cause for the establishing of the mind (citta); is both the path and the cause for the cleansing of the mind; is both the path and the cause for the attainment of distinction; is both the path and the cause for penetration of what is higher; is both the path and the cause for the realization of the truths; is both the path and the cause for establishing [the mind] in cessation (nirodha). At the moment of the path of non-returning (anāgāmimagga), right view in the sense of seeing … right concentration in the sense of non-distraction is both the path and the cause for the abandoning of the subtle fetter of sensual lust and the fetter of repulsion, of the subtle latent tendency to sensual lust and the latent tendency to repulsion; is both the path and the cause for the supporting of co-arisen dhammas; is both the path and the cause for the exhaustion of the defilements; is both the path and the cause for the purification of the beginning of penetration; is both the path and the cause for the establishing of the mind; is both the path and the cause for the cleansing of the mind; is both the path and the cause for the attainment of distinction; is both the path and the cause for penetration of what is higher; is both the path and the cause for the realization of the truths; is both the path and the cause for establishing [the mind] in cessation. At the moment of the path of Arahantship (arahattamagga), right view in the sense of seeing … right concentration in the sense of non-distraction is both the path and the cause for the abandoning of lust for form (rūparāga), lust for the formless (arūparāga), conceit (māna), restlessness (uddhacca), ignorance (avijjā), the latent tendency to conceit, the latent tendency to lust, and the latent tendency to ignorance; is both the path and the cause for the supporting of co-arisen dhammas; is both the path and the cause for the exhaustion of the defilements; is both the path and the cause for the purification of the beginning of penetration; is both the path and the cause for the establishing of the mind; is both the path and the cause for the cleansing of the mind; is both the path and the cause for the attainment of distinction; is both the path and the cause for penetration of what is higher; is both the path and the cause for the realization of the truths; is both the path and the cause for establishing [the mind] in cessation.
