[544] Bhikkhus, there are these four things that are true (tatha), not untrue, not otherwise. What four? "This is suffering (dukkha)" — this, bhikkhus, is true, not untrue, not otherwise. "This is the origin of suffering" — this is true, not untrue, not otherwise. "This is the cessation of suffering" — this is true, not untrue, not otherwise. "This is the way of practice leading to the cessation of suffering" — this is true, not untrue, not otherwise. These, bhikkhus, are the four things that are true, not untrue, not otherwise.
