[546] In how many aspects do the four truths (sacca) have a single penetration (paṭivedha)? In four aspects the four truths have a single penetration: in the sense of what is real (tatha), in the sense of not-self (anattā), in the sense of truth (sacca), and in the sense of penetration (paṭivedha). In these four aspects the four truths are included as one; what is included as one is a unity; and one penetrates that unity with a single knowledge (ñāṇa) — thus the four truths have a single penetration. How, in the sense of what is real, do the four truths have a single penetration? In four aspects, in the sense of what is real, the four truths have a single penetration: the meaning of suffering (dukkha) in suffering is a meaning of what is real; the meaning of origin in the origin is a meaning of what is real; the meaning of cessation in cessation is a meaning of what is real; the meaning of path in the path is a meaning of what is real. In these four aspects, in the sense of what is real, the four truths are included as one; what is included as one is a unity; and one penetrates that unity with a single knowledge — thus the four truths have a single penetration. How, in the sense of not-self, do the four truths have a single penetration? In four aspects, in the sense of not-self, the four truths have a single penetration: the meaning of suffering in suffering is a meaning of not-self; the meaning of origin in the origin is a meaning of not-self; the meaning of cessation in cessation is a meaning of not-self; the meaning of path in the path is a meaning of not-self. In these four aspects, in the sense of not-self, the four truths are included as one; what is included as one is a unity; and one penetrates that unity with a single knowledge — thus the four truths have a single penetration.
