[590] At the moment of the path of non-returning (anāgāmimagga), right view (sammādiṭṭhi) in the sense of seeing … right concentration (sammāsamādhi) in the sense of non-distraction becomes dispassionate toward the fetter (saṃyojana) of sensual lust and the fetter of repulsion that are of the subtle, residual kind, toward the latent tendency (anusaya) to sensual lust and the latent tendency to repulsion of the subtle, residual kind; it becomes dispassionate toward the defilements that follow along with those and toward the aggregates (khandha); and it becomes dispassionate toward all external signs (nimitta). Dispassion (virāga) has dispassion as its object … of paths, the eightfold is the best.
