[733] Bhikkhus, that a bhikkhu contemplating any dhamma as self will come to be endowed with conformable acceptance (anulomikā khanti) — this is impossible (netaṃ ṭhānaṃ vijjati). That one not endowed with conformable acceptance will enter upon the fixed course of rightness (sammattaniyāma) — this is impossible. That one not entering upon the fixed course of rightness will realize the fruition of stream-entry (sotāpattiphala), or the fruition of once-returning (sakadāgāmiphala), or the fruition of non-returning (anāgāmiphala), or the fruition of Arahantship (arahattaphala) — this is impossible. Bhikkhus, that a bhikkhu contemplating any dhamma as not-self (anattā) will come to be endowed with conformable acceptance — this is possible (ṭhānametaṃ vijjati). That one endowed with conformable acceptance will enter upon the fixed course of rightness — this is possible. That one entering upon the fixed course of rightness will realize the fruition of stream-entry, or the fruition of once-returning, or the fruition of non-returning, or the fruition of Arahantship — this is possible.
