[139] Seated in a spacious pavilion, I saw the Leader of the World,
his taints (āsava) destroyed, attained to the powers (bala), attended by the Saṅgha of bhikkhus (bhikkhusaṅgha).
A hundred thousand with the three true knowledges (tevijjā), with the six superknowledges (chaḷabhiññā), of great psychic power,
surround the Fully Awakened One (Sambuddha): who, having seen, would not be inspired with confidence?
He for whose knowledge (ñāṇa) no comparison is found in the world together with its devas —
the Fully Awakened One of infinite knowledge: who, having seen, would not be inspired with confidence?
And they display the Dhamma-body (dhammakāya), the entire mine of jewels;
they are not able to disturb it: who, having seen, would not be inspired with confidence?
With these three verses that Nārada, having praised Padumuttara,
the Fully Awakened One, the Unconquered, went forward.
Through that confidence of mind (citta) and that praise of the Buddha,
for a hundred thousand aeons (kappa) I was not reborn in a bad destination (duggati).
Three thousand aeons from the present there was a khattiya named Sumitta,
a wheel-turning monarch (cakkavatti) endowed with the seven jewels, of great might.
The four analytic insights (paṭisambhidā) and these eight liberations (vimokkha),
and the six superknowledges have been realized; the Buddha's teaching (sāsana) has been fulfilled.
Thus indeed did the Venerable Elder Atthasandassaka speak these verses.
