"Resembling a column of gold, the All-Knowing One, the Leader of the World —
having plunged into a lake of water, the Leader of the World bathed.
Holding up a kiṃkaṇi flower, I offered it to Vipassī —
uplifted in mind (citta), glad at heart — to the Lord of Bipeds, the Such One.
In the ninety-first aeon from now, since I offered that flower,
I know of no bad destination: this is the fruit of worship of the Buddha (buddhapūjā).
In the twenty-seventh aeon there was a king named Bhimaratha,
a wheel-turning monarch (cakkavatti) endowed with the seven treasures, of great power.
The four analytic insights (paṭisambhidā), and also these eight liberations (vimokkha),
the six superknowledges (chaḷabhiññā) have been realized; the Buddha's teaching (sāsana) has been fulfilled."
Thus indeed did the Venerable Kiṃkaṇikapupphiya, the Elder, speak these verses.
