[319] The great hero, lovely to behold, teaches the deathless state (amataṃ padaṃ);
surrounded by his disciples, he dwells in the supreme dwelling.

With that honeyed speech he shows kindness to the great multitude;
and his voice was vast — it was¹ [heard] among gods and humans.
Having heard the resounding voice of Siddhattha, the great seer,
I gladdened my mind (citta) at that sound and paid homage to the Leader of the World.
In the ninety-fourth aeon (kappa) from this one, since I gained that perception (saññā) then,
I have known no bad destination: this is the fruit of the perception of the Buddha.
The four analytic insights (paṭisambhidā), and also these eight liberations (vimokkha),
and the six superknowledges (chaḷabhiññā) have been realized; the Buddha's teaching has been fulfilled.
Thus indeed did the Venerable Saddasaññaka the Elder speak these verses.
The Apadāna of the Elder Saddasaññaka is concluded.
