[53] To the Buddha Padumuttara, the Eldest of the World, the Stable One (tādī),
a single fan² was given by me — to the lord of the two-footed (dipadinda), the Stable One.
Having gladdened my own mind (citta) and raised my joined palms (añjali),
having paid homage to the Fully Awakened One, I departed³ facing north.

Taking up the fan, the Teacher, the foremost leader of the world,
while standing amid the Saṅgha of bhikkhus, spoke these verses:
"Through this gift of a fan and through the aspirations of his mind,
for a hundred thousand aeons (kappa) he will not go to the state of loss (vinipāta)."
With energy (vīriya) aroused, resolute, composed in the qualities of mind (cetoguṇa),
at seven years from birth I attained Arahantship (arahatta).
In sixty thousand aeons there were sixteen kings all bearing the same name, Bijjamāna,
universal monarchs (cakkavattī) of great might.
The four analytic insights (paṭisambhidā), and also these eight liberations (vimokkha),
and the six superknowledges (chaḷabhiññā) have been realized; the Buddha's teaching (sāsana) has been done.
Thus indeed the Venerable Vidhūpanadāyaka Thera spoke these verses.
