Having seen a kiṃsuka tree in bloom, I raised my joined palms
and, recollecting the supreme Buddha, I paid homage in the sky.
By that deed well done, and through my volitions and aspirations,
on abandoning the human body I went to Tāvatiṃsa.
It was in the thirty-first aeon from now that I did that deed;
I know of no bad destination — this is the fruit of worshipping the Buddha.
My defilements have been burned away; all existences have been uprooted;
like an elephant that has sundered its bonds, I dwell free from taints (āsava).
Welcome indeed was my coming into the presence of my Buddha:
the three true knowledges (vijjā) have been attained; the Buddha's teaching has been fulfilled.
The four analytic insights (paṭisambhidā), and these eight liberations (vimokkha) too,
and the six superknowledges (chaḷabhiññā) have been realized; the Buddha's teaching has been fulfilled.
Thus indeed did the Venerable Elder Kiṃsukapupphiya speak these verses.
The Apadāna of the Elder Kiṃsukapupphiya is concluded.
