[1027] Therein, which are the ten grounds of resentment (āghātavatthu)? Resentment (āghāta) arises (thinking), "He has done me harm (anattha)"; resentment arises (thinking), "He is doing me harm"; resentment arises (thinking), "He will do me harm"; resentment arises (thinking), "He has done harm, is doing harm, will do harm to one who is dear and agreeable to me"; resentment arises (thinking), "He has done good (attha), is doing good, will do good to one who is not dear and not agreeable to me"; or else resentment arises groundlessly (aṭṭhāne). These are the ten grounds of resentment.
