[907] Therein, which is thought connected with not being despised (anavaññattipaṭisaṃyutta-vitakka)?
Here someone [thinks]: "May others not despise me on account of birth, or of clan, or of being the son of a good family, or of beauty of complexion, or of wealth, or of study, or of a field of work, or of a field of craft, or of a branch of knowledge, or of learning, or of ready wit — on account of one or another ground." That which therein is thinking (takka), thought (vitakka) … wrong intention (micchāsaṅkappa) based on the household life (gehasita) — this is called thought connected with not being despised.
