[1001] S. Is the person (puggala) practising for the realization (sacchikiriyā) of arahantship (arahatta) one who has passed beyond the fruit of stream-entry (sotāpattiphala), yet is endowed with it? P. Yes. S. Is the person practising for the realization of arahantship one who has passed beyond the path of stream-entry (sotāpattimagga), who has passed beyond personality-view (sakkāyadiṭṭhi), doubt (vicikicchā), adherence to rules and rituals (sīlabbataparāmāsa), lust (rāga) that leads to states of woe (apāyagamaniya), hatred (dosa) that leads to states of woe, and delusion (moha) that leads to states of woe, yet is endowed with it? P. It should not be said thus. …
