[1149] P. Is it not to be said: "Merit (puñña) accomplished through use (paribhogamayaṃ puññaṃ) increases"?
S. Yes.
P. But was it not said by the Blessed One:
"Planters of parks, planters of groves,
those people who build bridges,
and those who give a drinking-place,
a well, and a dwelling —
for them, by day and by night,
merit always increases;
established in the Dhamma, accomplished in virtue,
those people are bound for heaven"?
Is there such a discourse (suttanta)?
S. Yes.
P. Therefore, merit accomplished through use does increase.
