[1160] [Sakavādin:] "The earth (paṭhavī) is a result of kamma (kamma-vipāka); [yet] the earth is not to be experienced as pleasant, not to be experienced as painful, … is without an object (anārammaṇā); there is no adverting (āvajjanā) on its part, … no aspiration (paṇidhi)?" [Paravādin:] "Yes." [Sakavādin:] "Contact (phassa) is a result of kamma; [yet] contact is not to be experienced as pleasant, not to be experienced as painful, … is without an object; there is no adverting on its part, … no aspiration?" [Paravādin:] "It should not be said thus. …"
