[1298] Sakavādin: There is no material life-faculty (rūpa-jīvitindriya)? Paravādin: Yes. Sakavādin: Non-percipient beings (asaññasattā) have no life-faculty (jīvitindriya)? Paravādin: It should not be said thus. … Sakavādin: Non-percipient beings have a life-faculty? Paravādin: Yes. Sakavādin: If non-percipient beings have a life-faculty, then indeed, sir, it should not be said that there is no material life-faculty.
