[1379] [Sakavādin:] Is the form (rūpa) of one endowed with the path (maggasamaṅgī) the path (magga)? [Paravādin:] Yes. [Sakavādin:] Is it something having an object (sārammaṇa)? Is there for it adverting (āvajjanā), ideation (ābhoga), consideration (samannāhāra), attention (manasikāra), volition (cetanā), aspiration (patthanā), resolve (paṇidhi)? [Paravādin:] It should not be said thus. … [Sakavādin:] Is it not without an object (anārammaṇa)? Does it not lack adverting … resolve? [Paravādin:] Yes. [Sakavādin:] If it is without an object, and it lacks adverting … resolve, then indeed you should not say that the form of one endowed with the path is the path.
