[1381] [S.] Right action (sammākammanta) … Is right livelihood (sammā-ājīva) the path (magga)?

[S.] Is it with an object (sārammaṇa)? Is there for it adverting (āvajjanā) … resolve (paṇidhi)?
[P.] It should not be said thus. …
[S.] Is it not without an object (anārammaṇa)? Is there not for it adverting … resolve?
[P.] Yes.
[S.] If it is without an object, and there is not for it adverting … resolve, then indeed, sir, it should not be said that right livelihood is the path.
