[1406] [P.] Is it not to be said that one possessed of the path (maggasamaṅgī) is endowed with two kinds of virtue (sīla)? [S.] Yes. [P.] When mundane (lokiya) virtue has ceased, does the path arise? [S.] Yes. [P.] Does one who is immoral, one whose virtue is broken, one whose virtue is torn, develop the path? [S.] It should not be said thus. … [P.] Then indeed one possessed of the path is endowed with two kinds of virtue.
