[1409] S. Is virtue (sīla) not a mental factor (acetasika)? P. Yes. S. Does it have undesirable fruit (aniṭṭhaphala)? P. It should not be said thus. … S. Does it not have desirable fruit (iṭṭhaphala)? P. Yes. S. If it has desirable fruit, then indeed you should not say that virtue is not a mental factor.
