[1464] P. Is it not to be said: "One endowed with the force of psychic power (iddhibala) could remain for an eon (kappa)"?
S. Yes.
P. But was it not said by the Blessed One: "Ānanda, whosoever has developed, made much of, made a vehicle of, made a ground of, kept up, consolidated, and thoroughly undertaken the four bases of psychic power (iddhipāda) — he, should he so wish, could remain for an eon or for the remainder of an eon"? Is there indeed such a discourse (suttanta)?
S. Yes.
P. Well then, one endowed with the force of psychic power could remain for an eon.
