[1656] P. Is it not to be said: "One person bestows happiness upon another"?
S. Yes.
P. But did not the Venerable Udāyī say this: "Truly, the Blessed One is the remover of many painful phenomena (dukkhadhammā) for us; truly, the Blessed One is the bringer of many pleasant phenomena for us; truly, the Blessed One is the remover of many unwholesome phenomena for us; truly, the Blessed One is the bringer of many wholesome phenomena for us!"¹ — is there indeed such a discourse?
S. Yes.
P. Well then, one person does bestow happiness upon another.
The Discussion of the Bestowal of Happiness (Sukhānuppadānakathā) is concluded.
