[1696] S. Is there no untimely death (akālamaccu) for an Arahant?

S. Would poison not take effect on the body of an Arahant, would a weapon not take effect, would fire not take effect?
P. It should not be said thus. …
S. Is it not so that poison could take effect on the body of an Arahant, that a weapon could take effect, that fire could take effect?
P. Yes.
S. If poison could take effect on the body of an Arahant, if a weapon could take effect, if fire could take effect, then truly, good sir, it should not be said: "There is no untimely death for an Arahant."
