[1811] [S.] One who has unintentionally (asañcicca) deprived his mother of life is guilty of a deed of immediate retribution (ānantarika)?

[S.] Is there indeed a discourse (suttanta) [stating]: "One who has unintentionally deprived his mother of life is guilty of a deed of immediate retribution"?
[P.] There is not.
[S.] Is there indeed a discourse [stating]: "One who has intentionally (sañcicca) deprived his mother of life is guilty of a deed of immediate retribution"?
[P.] Yes.
[S.] If there is indeed a discourse [stating]: "One who has intentionally deprived his mother of life is guilty of a deed of immediate retribution," then surely, good sir, you should not say: "One who has unintentionally deprived his mother of life is guilty of a deed of immediate retribution."
