[1854] [Paravādin:] Should it not be said, "Kamma to be experienced in this very life (diṭṭhadhammavedanīya-kamma) is fixed (niyata) in the sense of 'to be experienced in this very life'; kamma to be experienced on rebirth (upapajjavedanīya-kamma) … ; kamma to be experienced in subsequent existences (aparāpariyavedanīya-kamma) is fixed in the sense of 'to be experienced in subsequent existences'"?
[Sakavādin:] Yes.
[Paravādin:] Is kamma to be experienced in this very life kamma to be experienced on rebirth? Is it kamma to be experienced in subsequent existences? … Is kamma to be experienced on rebirth kamma to be experienced in this very life? Is it kamma to be experienced in subsequent existences? … Is kamma to be experienced in subsequent existences kamma to be experienced in this very life? Is it kamma to be experienced on rebirth?
[Sakavādin:] It should not be said thus. …
[Paravādin:] Then kamma to be experienced in this very life is fixed in the sense of 'to be experienced in this very life'; kamma to be experienced on rebirth … ; kamma to be experienced in subsequent existences is fixed in the sense of 'to be experienced in subsequent existences'.
