[1886] [Sakavādin:] "The Bodhisatta goes to a state of misery (vinipāta) by reason of the sovereign exercise of free will (issariyakāmakārikā)?"
[Paravādin:] "Yes."
[Sakavādin:] "Is there really a discourse (suttanta) [stating]: 'The Bodhisatta goes to a state of misery by reason of the sovereign exercise of free will'?"
[Paravādin:] "There is not."
[Sakavādin:] "If there really is no discourse [stating]: 'The Bodhisatta goes to a state of misery by reason of the sovereign exercise of free will,' then surely you should not say: 'The Bodhisatta goes to a state of misery by reason of the sovereign exercise of free will.'"
