[204] [S.] Does the Non-Returner (anāgāmī) fall away from the fruition of Non-Returning (anāgāmiphala)?
[P.] Yes.
[S.] Does the Once-Returner (sakadāgāmī) fall away from the fruition of Once-Returning (sakadāgāmiphala)?
[P.] It should not be said thus.
[S.] By whom have the more numerous defilements (kilesā) been abandoned — by the Non-Returner or by the Once-Returner?
[P.] By the Non-Returner.
[S.] If the more numerous defilements have been abandoned by the Non-Returner, and the Non-Returner falls away from the fruition of Non-Returning, then indeed, sir, you should say: "The Once-Returner falls away from the fruition of Once-Returning."
