[548] S. Is it not that an Arahant is not one to be led by others, not one who relies on others in trust, not one dependent on others, not one whose course is bound up with others — that he knows, he sees, he is unconfused, clearly comprehending?
P. Yes.
S. If an Arahant is not one to be led by others, not one who relies on others in trust, not one dependent on others, not one whose course is bound up with others — if he knows, he sees, he is unconfused, clearly comprehending — then indeed, sir, you should not say, "There is guidance by others (paravitāraṇā) for the Arahant."
