[693] P. It should not be said, "There are two cessations (nirodha)"?
S. Yes.
P. Is it not the case that conditioned things (saṅkhārā) that have ceased without reflection (appaṭisaṅkhāniruddhā) are utterly broken up, and that conditioned things that have ceased through reflection (paṭisaṅkhāniruddhā) are also utterly broken up?
S. Yes.
P. If conditioned things that have ceased without reflection are utterly broken up, and conditioned things that have ceased through reflection are utterly broken up, then indeed, good sir, it should be said, "There are two cessations."
