[695] [Sakavādin:] "Are there two cessations (nirodha)?"
[Paravādin:] "Yes."
[Sakavādin:] "Do formations (saṅkhārā) that have ceased through reflection (paṭisaṅkhā) not arise again?"
[Paravādin:] "Yes."
[Sakavādin:] "Do formations that have ceased without reflection (appaṭisaṅkhā) not arise again?"
[Paravādin:] "It should not be said thus…"
[Sakavādin:] "In that case, it should not be said that there are two cessations."

Conveyance by another (parūpahāra), unknowing (aññāṇa), doubt (kaṅkhā), guidance by others (paravitāraṇā);
articulate utterance (vacībheda), induction by [the word] "suffering" (dukkhāhāra), duration (ṭhiti), formations as hot embers (kukkuḷā saṅkhārā);
penetration is one (eko abhisamayo), utterance is one (eko vohāro), cessation is one (eko nirodho).¹
