[699] [Sakavādin:] Is the power of the Tathāgata (tathāgatabala) common to disciples (sāvakasādhāraṇa)? [Paravādin:] Yes. [Sakavādin:] Of whatever kind are the Tathāgata's former application (pubbayoga), former conduct (pubbacariyā), declaration of the Dhamma (dhammakkhāna), and teaching of the Dhamma (dhammadesanā) — are the disciple's former application, former conduct, declaration of the Dhamma, and teaching of the Dhamma of that same kind? [Paravādin:] It should not be said thus. …
