[729] Sakavādin: "The Tathāgata's power (tathāgatabala) — the knowledge (ñāṇa), as it really is (yathābhūta), of the passing away and reappearance (cutūpapāta) of beings — is noble (ariya), but it should not be said that it has emptiness (suññatā) as its object (ārammaṇa) … that it has the signless (animitta) as its object … that it has the desireless (appaṇihita) as its object?"
Paravādin: "Yes."
Sakavādin: "The right exertions (sammappadhāna) … the factors of awakening (bojjhaṅga) are noble, but it should not be said that they have the desireless as their object?"
Paravādin: "It should not be said thus …"
