[882] Sakavādin: Was the Elder (thera) Mahāpaṇṭhaka not an arahant (arahā) simultaneously with rebirth (upapatti)? Paravādin: Yes. Sakavādin: If the Elder Mahāpaṇṭhaka was not an arahant simultaneously with rebirth, then indeed it should not be said: "One is an arahant simultaneously with rebirth."
