Just as the Bodhisatta, as soon as born, having taken his stand on even feet, facing north, takes seven strides while a white parasol is being held over him, surveys all the quarters, and utters the lordly utterance (āsabhī vācā): "I am the foremost of the world; I am the eldest of the world; I am the best of the world. This is the last birth (jāti); there is now no renewed existence (punabbhava)" — even so, does the being destined to become a universal monarch (cakkavattisatta), as soon as born, having taken his stand on even feet, facing north, take seven strides while a white parasol is being held over him, survey all the quarters, and utter the lordly utterance: "I am the foremost of the world; I am the eldest of the world; I am the best of the world. This is the last birth; there is now no renewed existence"?
