[290] Is eye (cakkhu) the eye sense base (cakkhāyatana)? The divine eye (dibbacakkhu) and the eye of wisdom (paññācakkhu) are eye but not the eye sense base; the eye sense base is both eye and the eye sense base. Are sense bases (āyatana) the ear sense base (sotāyatana)? The ear sense base is both a sense base and the ear sense base; the remaining sense bases are sense bases but not the ear sense base.
